About the National Democracy Solidarity Walk

The National Democracy Solidarity Walk is more than just a stroll; it's a powerful symbol of unity, progress, and democratic resilience in Nigeria. For over a decade, this event has stood as a beacon of hope, marking significant milestones in our nation's journey towards sustained democracy.

A Historic Journey:

Since its inception in 2009, the National Democracy Solidarity Walk has been a testament to Nigeria's unyielding commitment to democratic principles. Every year, on May 29th, citizens from all walks of life gather to commemorate our democracy's progress and reaffirm our dedication to a brighter future.

 

The Symbolism of the WALK

The Walk symbolizes our collective stride towards a better Nigeria. It represents the hopes and aspirations of millions, echoing the vibrant spirit of democracy. Through this event, we aim to raise awareness, foster education, and promote national integration, laying the foundation for a more inclusive society.

The nominal motions of the Walk:

During the WALK, the participants move together some hand-in-hand and other singing . Furthermore and during the course, some grow weary and faint and have to rely of the strengths of their colleagues, etc

 The entire mechanisms above are as such the symbolisms by which the WALK achieves the below stated objectives and others. They are as obvious in their connectivity with desired or envisaged messages – to promote and better manage Nigeria's democracy.

Leading The Walk

Leading The walk in the FCT will be the President of the federal Republic of Nigeria. The various governors of the 36 States will do likewise in their various states.

The National Democracy Stakeholders Group (NDSG) stands as a public governance association committed to instilling stability, effectiveness, and good governance in Nigeria’s democratic system. Its core mission is to involve a diverse range of people in decision-making processes and ensure citizen's access to socio-economic resources. Representing the largest assembly of non-partisan democracy stakeholders in Nigeria, the NDSG comprises various institutions and individuals dedicated to promoting a democratic government aligned with popular demands for participation, social justice, peace, and an egalitarian society.

WALK Partnerships

Partners are drawn from stakeholders sector in passive or active participation in the Stakeholders Group and the Partners bring value to the WALK by sponsoring the entire exercise or co – sponsoring segments of the WALK's course. The WALK grants visibility, national network press mentions and other visibility or moral advantages to her Partners.
